During an enthusiastic meeting on Tuesday night, 29th Oct, residents decided to hold a Street Party next year on 1st June to celebrate our wonderful street and the people who live here.
Residents are hoping to use the area of Josephine Avenue between the two ends of Appach Road for the event, and the thinking so far is to use the road for a sound stage, a possible children’s area (any volunteers?) and for residents to picnic. The sides of the road and pavement could be used for ‘mini-events’ run by residents and offers so far include…
• Marion is keen to run a book exchange, so please start saving your unwanted books.
• Frances is investigating the possibility of a cycle surgery.
• Nick and Irene have offered to run the sound stage with time slots for bands, choirs, talent contest, DJs… Maybe you are a performer?
• Geoff is looking into a possible pet show, maybe teaming up with a local vet to give advice on your pet’s health.
• Tim has offered to run a plant swap stall, so please start potting those seedlings and spare bulbs.
