Low Traffic Survey

The Tulse Hill Labour group are carrying out a survey to find out what residents think about the proposed Low Traffic Neighbourhood scheme for the Tulse Hill area. Ward councillor Ben Kind is encouraging people to complete this survey and also include any other thoughts residents may have on street infrastructure.

Residents may remember that JAG campaigned extensively for the parking hours of the CPZ (Controlled Parking Zone) to be reduced to two hours in the morning, allowing service vehicles (e.g. plumbers, deliveries, etc) and friends to park in the street the rest of the day. This would still dissuade commuters from using the street (the reason for the CPZ) without the all day inconvenience residents presently have. There is also the matter of poor street lighting, something else JAG asked to be improved.

Under the proposed scheme all roads within Brixton Hill, South Circular and Effra Road would be affected.

There have been a number of objections to these schemes, and petitions have been raised against them such as the nearby Railton Road petition and St Matthews petition.
