MINUTES OF JAG MEETING Wed  8th Oct. 2008 


Those present: Gary Turnbull (Chair),  Nick Berry (Treasurer),  Sibs Walter, Tim Sutton


1. Apologies were received from ; Louise Belson, Roger Blantern, Anne Brown, Neil Thurlow, Gabby Dawnay, Tulse Hill SNT, Marcia Cameron, Peter Classen.


2. Previous Minutes. LB apologised for the lack of last month’s minutes. 

    These will be approved in November. 2 months to catch up.

    

3.Treasurers Report; NB reports figures as previous month – September.


4. Barrier Update; GT reported that TFL have agreed and signed off on the Scheme which must now be advertised and notices posted. Assuming no major objections, the latest time frame is 6 weeks. So barrier possible being installed mid November.

LB thinks that Rush Common consent was obtained before Lambeth signed off license application. She will check and report.


5. Community Safety. GT reported that as a result of community pressure, Lambeth Police had responded with an initiative to better deal with the vice problem in our area. Funding will be diverted back to this issue. Don Bruce has the details as an email from Superintendent Dave Musker. Anyone interested should check with Don.



6. Autumn Street clean / Chestnut leaf clear up / Freshview; LB volunteered to organize event with Freshview (Keith). The meeting thought that either Sat8 or Sun9 Nov, whichever was most suitable, would be the best date.


7. Any Other Business 

7.1 TS noted that an Enforcement Notice has been issued by Lambeth relating to the illegal extension at 22 Josephine Ave. The owners have 1 year to comply.

7.2 TS suggested and the meeting agreed to donate the sum of £200 from JAG funds to 'The Art Group', which is an Occupational Therapy based Group, attended by service users with drug and alcohol problems in Lambeth. It is part of the Addictions Division of South London and the Maudsly Hospital. The donation will go towards needed materials for the group.

7.3 NB apologized for not being able to organize the Bonfire night BBQ that had been planned so the meeting suggested that the event be moved forward and become a celebration of the JA road closure! When it happens…

7.4 GT suggested that JAG needs to find other suitable local recipients for donations. He will contact Neil Thurlow for suggestions.


8. The next meeting will be on Wed 12 Nov 2008, 7.30pm at 21 JA
