Those present: Garry Turnbull (chair), Anne Brown, Elizabeth Owen, Sarah Leon, Pelle, Catriona Andrews

1. Apologies of absence were received from; Tim Sutton, Chris Van Duuren, Lia, Sheilds, Barney.

2. Previous Minutes of the 13th Jan meeting were approved. It was noted that Anne Brown hadn't seen a copy and Pelle wasn't able to find them on the web site. He will send a request to be included on the mailing list.

3. Treasures Report With Chris Van D absent there was no update.

4. Keith Hill Meeting It was noted that Keith Hill had cancelled at the last minute. Members were concerned about the lack of apparent interest in the meeting as only 3 people turned up on the night who were not directly connected to JAG. It was raining on the night and this may have had an effect on numbers. After some discussion it was felt that there would not be much point in organizing a further meeting with such a potentially poor turnout. Suggestions were to perhaps invite the MP to a JAG meeting or the next AGM. To be considered at the next meet.

5. Traffic and Parking After some discussion regarding traffic and parking it was clear that some members felt that road safety was a more important issue than parking.

Garry reported that after communicating with Councillor Torren Smith it was clear that the key issue was the setting of the Lambeth Budget in Feb / March. He suggested a list of people to lobby as having influence on the budget process;

• Peter Truesdale (Council Leader/ ptruesdale@lambeth.gov.uk)

• John Whelan (Deputy Council Leader/ jwhelan@lambeth.gov.uk)

• Ashley Lumsden (Finance Executive Member/ alumsden@lambeth.gov.uk)

• Andrew Sawdon (Highways Executive Member/ asawdon@lambeth.gov.uk)

• Keith Fitchett (Housing Executive Member - but also Brixton Water Lane resident/ kfitchett@lambeth.gov.uk)

It appears to be the case that if monies are allocated then there is a chance that our area might get a consultation on CPZ in the coming year. This is not certain however.

Torren also confirmed that he had submitted a petion of 150 signatures concerning this matter to the council.

Keith Hill also replied to Garry suggesting that although sympathetic, there was not much he could do within his powers except to hand on a further petition to the traffic dept. which Catriona Andrews is currently preparing.

Bill Basra ( BBasra@lambeth.gov.com) has also informed us of the setting up of a Parking Commission in Lambeth to investigate parking and funding issues. They will be holding 2 public hearings, on 20th (11.00am to 2.00pm) and 25th March (7.00pm to 10.00pm) in the Assembly Hall of the Town Hall. We should make an effort to be there.

The proposed painting of yellow lines in the street was mentioned. It was decided to wait until the position regarding funding / consultation on a CPZ was clearer before progressing the matter.
