Josephine Avenue re-paving 4th April

After years of campaigning by JAG and a ‘Freedom of Information’ request, residents have finally been informed that the footpaths of Josephine Avenue (and we assume the remaining parts of Helix Gardens) are to be re-paved.

Work will last thirteen weeks starting on Monday 4th April and finishing Friday 1st July, one week before the Urban Art event.

Here is what the letter actually says:

    Dear Resident

    Josephine Avenue SW2

Lambeth Council is making its biggest ever investment on improving the borough’s roads and pavements.

From Monday 4th April 2016 until Friday 1st July 2016, CVU in partnership with Lambeth Council will be carrying out footway resurfacing works on the above roads as part of this investment programme.

It is envisaged that all works will be completed in sections during this period, providing there are no unforeseen circumstances or weather conditions that may delay or prevent works taking place.

The works will be carried out each day between 7:30am – 5pm.

Your cooperation is essential and we request that you do not park in the areas affected by the proposed works, Please note that obstructing vehicles may need to be relocated to nearby spaces / roads. Warning signage and barriers will be located in the areas to be resurface.

If you have any special requirements or need to arrange access for people with disabilities please contact me on the number or email address below.

The works may cause some disruption but all efforts will be made to keep inconvenience to a minimum for the duration of the works. If you a wish to discuss the progress of the works or have any issues while the work is taking place please contact:

    Yours faithfully,

    Anne Sharp
